Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water crossing for Iso Express was easy, with dry rocks to hop across. The water level at the crossing for Isolation trail was above most of the rocks. On Friday, the ice was not solid; I broke through on my way back and ended up in water up to my calves.

Comments
Comments: Rocky Branch was mostly frozen dirt, with more and more patches of ice as I went higher. The flat marshy area towards Engine Hill was mostly solid black and blue ice, with some water flowing on trail; it was very slippery and spikes were required. On the way up, I took the engine hill bushwhack and Iso express; both were almost completely frozen but very hard to follow - I had to keep referencing my GPS since there was no clear trail for most of it [a bushwhack is not a trail]. Closer to the summit, there was a nicely frozen packed snow for the trailbed which made for quick conditions. On the way back in the fading light, I decided to take the trails rather than bushwhack since it was faster going.
