| Comments: |
Bottom half of Jewell was intermittently wet, bony, and icy. A little bit of snow before treeline and above treeline a mix of bare rock, snow, and ice. Monorail in spots. Gulfside mostly bare with a few minor packed snowfields. Summit was bare, as was most of the final ascent to it.
Ran into Heat Lightning and a hiking guru who has been tramping the Presi’s for decades.
Spikes may not be needed until about 3800’. Bring ones you don’t mind dulling. |
