| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good shape overall. Some sections of Round Pond-Piper Link had longer stretches of standing water and mud just east of the pond. About halfway between Mt Klem summit and Round Pond on Mt Mack-Mt. Klem Loop Tr there is a large, multi-limb hemlock tree down across the trail, impassable, and a herd path is forming around it. |

| Comments: |
A lollipop hike with a counter-clockwise loop over Mts Mack and Klem. Round Pond is skimmed over with ice (at the moment). Such a peaceful spot along the shoreline of the pond, really quiet and pretty, with Mts Mack and Klem visible across the pond looking east, and a view back to Belknap Mtn from the southeast end of the pond.
A few sections of ice on rocks and ledges, avoidable.
Saw a few people out and about on the various trails today. In the 40s in late December is a treat that is happening all too often. Winter? There was a really cool fog bank over Winnipesauke due to the warm air temps, almost making an undercast in the area. |
