Comments
Comments: Got a late start and hit trail around 3pm. Road walk is typical hard mud - no issues. Hale Brook is ice free for about the first mile and then gets patchy ice that is avoidable and then gets more after the Hale Brook (water) crossing . You could take the spike on and off but I didn’t. The ice is soft similar to late season spring ice. No issues gripping with somewhat dull spikes. Insane warm hike. Didn’t even use gloves until maybe 3000 feet when it was getting dark. Basically, felt like late April or May.
