Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Was there at 7:45 and got the Mayor's spot right across from trailhead. Lifts start at 8 so it was quickly filling...show up at 8:30 and I think you are going to have to walk a bit to the trailhead. When I left, 2 cars coming from opposite directions both felt they had dibs on my spot. Didn't see who got it but won't surprise me to read about a homicide...

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A good hike for pooches and the ones I saw were pleased. If someone could invent "paw shoes" with retractable spikes, they would be a big hit for days like today with mixed conditions.

Comments
Comments: Had first tracks up in the AM. Probably saw 30 people on the way down. Snow begins after 2nd river crossing (wet leaves and mud prior to that), but there was ~1" of fresh snow that was adhering well to the ice underneath so nothing was super slick. I barebooted the whole way without issues as there were enough exposed rocks and I enjoy rock hopping. With colder conditions in store, you are definitely going to want the spikes in your pack.
