Comments
Comments: A nice bushwhack outing to Mt. Kancamagus via its SE ridge, which I had not used as an ascent route before. Starting from the Livermore N trailhead, I hiked up to Livermore Pass and began my bushwhack there at the height-of-land, amidst a large amount of bird activity. From here to the sub-peak at ca. 3,600 ft., the going was easy through open woods; a few thicker areas were encountered just past this peak, but nothing too bad. The remainder of the ridge was similarly open all the way to the summit. I considered dropping down to the NE-facing view ledge at 3,345 ft., but conditions were still cloudy and would not have made for a good photo for the effort. A good day for this peak with lots of animal tracks observed at higher elevations.
