Comments
Comments: Packed snow along Zealand Road. Barebooted up to the first crossing. Put on my sharp microspikes and kept them on until I returned to Zealand Road. Quiet New Year’s Day hike. I saw two deer along Zealand Road and only 5 hikers descending from Hale ( just below the summit). No issues with the side slope section. Now is a good time to hike Hale.
