All water crossings on Falling Waters were pretty simple wearing spikes and using poles. First one is the trickiest, but ultimately could be crossed at the normal spot. |

There’s one black glove and a small black dog bootie at the trailhead. Someone took the large, black microspike that was there in the morning. |

| Comments: |
We headed up Little Haystack first and donned rock spikes at the car. We carried sharper spikes per other trail reports, but didn’t need them at all. If you were to descend Falling Waters you’d probably want something sharp as there’s plenty of bare floe ice. There was a thin layer of new snow on top of most other icy spots which leant excellent grip. The ridge was quite boney. Snowshoes aren’t necessary anywhere. We wore our spikes the whole day. |
