Comments
Comments: N&S Kinsman via Fishin Jimmy: Lonesome lake Tr has a thin covering of well packed snow. Rock spikes are probably the best choice for most people. I used spikes from the beginning but some others were barebooting to the hut without problem. Fishin Jimmy has a lot of icy spots but even so was predominantly packed snow. There were maybe 7 or 8 areas with big ice flows which were tricky especially coming down. You will want sharp spikes and will still need to be very careful chosing your footing in these areas. The Kinsman Ridge trail was mostly well packed snow. There is one spot going up to N Kinsman and two spots coming off N Kinsman to South that were icy but they are short sections and not too bad.
