Comments
Comments: Wore beater spikes from trailhead to trailhead. Barely any snow out there at all. Jewell is practically bare ground with patches of ice until almost treeline. Above tree line is a decent snowpack with rocks. Thought about descending Jefferson via Caps Ridge/roadwalk/Boundary line. Started down Caps Ridge and it hasn’t been touched. Minimal snow with maybe a few inches but the footing sucked so I opted out at The Cornice and made my way back to Gulfside with the nice defined path. Boundary Line from Jewell Trail looked doable so it’s probably possible if you don’t mind the slow going down to tree line. If you need Presi for January now is the time to get out there.
