| Water Crossing Notes: |
Two major crossings of the Dry Brook on the Falling Waters trail: The first at 0.4 miles up the Falling Waters Trail was the trickiest. I was able to rock hop over the official trail crossing, but there was an obvious bushwack heading upstream where other hikers found other options to cross. The second crossing, 0.2 mi further up the Falling Waters trail was much easier to rock hop across. |

| Comments: |
Microspikes all day, no need for crampons or snowshoes today. The Falling Waters trail is pretty icy going up as you cross and hike next to Dry Brook but microspikes were more than enough. Just need to be careful + intentional with your steps on those steeper icy spots. The ridge trail has a nice packed trail with good traction, mostly packed snow, very little ice, with some exposed rock. Old Bridle was easy going on the way down, mix of packed snow with some icy patches and exposed rock. All in all, really great trail conditionns that only required microspikes, matched with some beautiful weather (mostly sunny skies, 10 - 15F, 20-35mph NW/W winds, and -10 - 0 wind chill). |
