Ice had started to form over the two larger crossings, but it was not yet stable enough to hold weight. Once I broke the ice, I could see the rocks to allow for a dry crossing. |

| Comments: |
Hancocks were in good condition on Saturday - ice and frozen snow covered most of the trail. The parts of the trail that tend to have moving water were almost all fully frozen. The water crossings were a little interesting on my way out but on the way back, they were more manageable due to the number of people who had crossed, making the rocks easier to find under the ice. The ascents/descents both still had visible rocks and some ice, but not as much ice as I had expected - regular spikes were sufficient. |
