Broke trail with 6”-3’ depth up to around 2,900 ft about 0.1 mi below red spot junction. Would still bring spikes for trails above treeline due to icy, steep spots where snow blown away. Challenging in sections of sharp ankling biting rocks. Had to take it slow & rely on memory of trail to prevent injury. Evergreen trees also loaded with snow, so hooded clothing essential.
Had a blast. Close to perfect new powder conditions. Few ski tracks near car. Can’t wait to get back up assuming incoming rain leaves some snow. |
