Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Needs more blazing...blazes are faint. Blazes are few and far between but thankfully I’ve hiked this trail enough times in winter to know the route. The sign where the northern end meets the southern end of this trail was gone that helps identify where to turn to descend down! Thankfully my recollection knew where to turn and with the help of All Trails, we were assured of the way forward. The sign at the driveway to note the start/end of this trail can no longer be seen...owner has built a shed before it hiding it There are a number of blowdowns after the Greeley Ledges trail junction. There is one before the new X-C trail blocking the trail...hand saw might work. Upon reaching the western shoulder, there is another blocking the trail...hand saw might work as well. There could be a double blaze at the sharp right turn in the lower section where there are a number of small stream crossings. Sections of trail with water on it...erosion is taking place.

Comments
Comments: What a fun loop with Pemi Valley Hikers! From the parking area, we put on our snowshoes and walked up the ski slope to the official start. I was on the fence with using snowshoes but thought it best to put them on to establish a good wintry snowshoe track for this season rather than leave a trail of frozen postholes after today’s weather! The trail is a rocky footbed so rocks were sticking out making a bit challenging at times to maneuver our snowshoes around them but everyone was a good sport about it.

The Greeley Ledges Trail was bony requiring tricky footing...especially with snowshoes. Blazes are few and far between but thankfully I’ve hiked this trail enough times in winter to know the route. Folks who were following me expressed they would have some anxiety hiking this trail in winter due to the blazing issues. We were the only ones on the trail today.
