The Falling Waters and OBP Trails are a postholed mess. Plain awful. The snow is frozen powder, but could be compressed with enough snowshoe traffic. I was able to bareboot all the way up to Little Haystack by placing my boots in the postholes. The ridge is probably best traversed with snowshoes - I used full crampons because the snowshoes I was carrying kind of sucked in these conditions. Wish I'd brought my Evo Ascents instead. |
