My niece & I broke out Osseo. We barebooted from the parking lot to approximately a mile into Osseo. We put on snowshoes & kept them on until we got back to the LWT. The ladders were challenging on the ascent; they were buried under snow. We ended up sort of crawling our way up them. We butt slid down because we had no other option. I’ve been to Flume via Osseo many times. I have never had such challenging conditions along the ridge. Lots off snow drifts on the rocks. We crossed the ridge very slowly. We met a guy in the summit who was happy to hear the trail was broken out. So, 3 pairs of snowshoes worked on the trail. We also saw 4 people who had come up Flume Slide. |
