Had a nice climb up, breakable crust over 6 inches of sugar snow, this is one Bi-Polar winter so far. We enjoyed our hike, spikes car to car, snowshoes wouldn't have been helpful. New tower looked spiffy. Very fast descent, the trail is broken out now, but it's still loose and slick until the snows composition changes. Access road in is ice, helped a lady by calling the police to arrange getting her car pulled out of a ditch, that's how icy it is, its ok if you know how to drive. Note- the broken trail does deviate from the blazes in at least two spots, but the deviations are short and merge onto the correct route in short time. I knew it was off route, but it already had tracks and that crust was a bit....lol. Shay had a fun day. |
