Would have been a lot more fun with dry rock or piles of snow. As it was the trail was icy or with crusty snow. Cloudy skies closed in about the time we hit the summit so not much of a view. Bare rock, ice, crusty, and running water lower on the trail. Interesting and occasionally challenging scrambling. A good workout requiring careful foot placements. We saw many well prepared people as well as people who were not, some wearing cotton hoodies without gloves/mittens. Snow squall as we were finishing added to the ambience of the day. It didn't cause any problems on the trail but tricky driving on the way home. Kestrel T=24 W=gusting to 27 WC=9 |
