Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Well, I arrived later on a Sunday, so parking was tight as was turning around. Couple of folks didn’t leave much room to squeeze past on the way out. Ravine Lodge Road is really icy, but an inch or two of fresh snow made it a little more grippy. Go slow.

Comments
Comments: The road was icy - spikes for that. Then it was snowshoes the rest of the way. I stayed well off the ski tracks to the side on Al Merrill Loop. The snowshoeing was easy; I mostly floated on top. Checked out John Rand Cabin on my way up. Met two friendly skiers who’d done an out-and-back to the height of land, only people I saw on the trails today. What a beautiful snowshoe route, wide and gradual. Lots of animal tracks, including moose.

Asquam wasn’t as smooth due to multiple drainage dips and some old postholes but still not bad. Put’s Path is a nice alternative to the icy road. My first time on this new trail. I liked it!
