| Comments: |
I skied out Gale River Rd from the east entrance to about 2/10 mile up Gale River Trail where I switched to snowshoes. There was a lot of debris on the road and trail and it really isn't worth skiing it until the area gets 3+ inches of snow without ridiculous winds. I did a lot of housekeeping on Gale River Trail - I made a small dent. Two men lead the way with an amazing display of synchronized snowshoeing (meaning their trip up resulted in one set of deep snowshoe tracks). I followed (and did little to even out the track) and at least one couple followed me. They (and others?) did a very nice job on the round trip of smoothing the track. I think we can assume Frost is the same. Twinway and North Twin Spur got the tracks from the 2 leaders (who crossed and descended North Twin Trail) and mine out and back. Twinway needs a lot more work and anyone heading to North Twin Spur can expect to do some trail breaking as snow was drifting in in many spots and it snowed 2 or more inches after I crossed back from North Twin. |
