Date of Hike: Sunday, January 14, 2024
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Greeley Ponds trailhead was snowed in and inaccessible, so we parked next to the highway at another unnamed trailhead slightly closer to Lincoln (44.02972908542149, -71.52077072740371). From there, we were able to take a well-broken-in trail labelled 'Ski Trail' on AllTrails to the junction of Greeley Ponds Trail and Mount Osceola Trail near Mad River Notch.

Comments
Comments: There was at least 6 inches of snowpack, powdery in some areas and with a thin crust in others. Some minor postholes. We needed snowshoes the whole way. Switched over to crampons and ice axe for the chimney between East Osceola and Osceola (didn't really need them though, it was mostly just for practice). Some of the steeper sections could be challenging to ascend snowshoes due to snow sliding out underneath (they were lots of fun to slide down on the way back though!)
