Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: logging roads with arrows to cabin were somewhat easy to follow but very infrequent. VERY glad I could see light indentations from others who snowshoed up Bulkhead trail from cabin as I lost the trail many times - tape is not easy to see and there really aren't blazes. From Bulkhead to Balanced Rock there were occasional yellow blazes but I lost the trail multiply times eventually just side-slabbing bushwhacking while crossing old snowshoe track. Eventually eyed the Balanced Rock - still trail very indistinct.

Comments
Comments: Terrific morning - took much longer than anticipated - around 7.5 miles in 4 hours. Low-down within a half mile of proctor, trail pretty punched up by everything from turkeys, deer, and barebooters. Once beyond that, good supportive crusty snow for staying on top of snow using snowshoes. LOTS of open water in the usual swampy sections - I just snowshoed on the high banks on either side. Did a the loop counter-clockwise. Outstanding views from Bulkhead.
