Comments
Comments: This is a good hike for getting back into it before heading farther north for other trails. There is only scant snow but in plenty of spots the trail itself has water and ice. I was the only person I saw wearing microspikes, which I put on for the last mile because that is where I started needing extra time to see if there was ice under the super light layer of snow. I don't like slipping so microspikes are worth the shishkabobbing of leaves on dryer sections. Beautiful trail with giant rocks and some different options at the summit for great lookout spots, not to mention the fire tower. I've hiked this trail many times but still enjoy it.
