Comments
Comments: Great day visiting a low summit as the snowstorm rolled in yesterday, making for some really enjoyable snowshoe running on the trek out. Beginning from 1 cleared spot (police stopped by, thought I was stuck), I snowshoed immediately as barebooting groomed trails is a no-no. A solid, packed base provided quick travel into the backcountry. Early along the snomo trail, a flume of ice flowed side to side, across the groomed trail, other spots had holes 8-10" deep, looking straight down to running water on trail, yuck.

Snowshoeing conditions were fantastic, however. Flying along groomed Hog Hill Road, soon got off to follow a bearing toward my objective. A track from 1 sled led the way up to a snowmobile turnaround around 2000'. This brought me onto the ridge where a brief westerly whack, over two rolling hills, found a steep climb up the final pitch. A small, southern bump is first encountered, as continuing onto the northern bump brings hikers to the recognized high point of the mountain. I imagine a nice, northfacing view could be had from the summit - snow was dumping hard while up on the summit, low winds, very nice visit.

Following tracks back through the bushwhack to snowmobile tracks. Quick, 1.5hr ramble over 4.25miles - loving these groomed snomo trails.
