Comments
Comments: Snowshoes car to car after the latest snowstorm. About 6 inches fluffy powder at 19 Mi Br Trailhead, 6-12 at elevation with deep drifts of 3-4 ft. Tough trail breaking from Carter Notch to Wildcat A with massive windslab walls of snow to push through or over or around. Very windy in Carter Notch, as usual; and with single digit temps felt extremely cold. Almost could have aborted. Glad to get out of the notch! We had used up most of our energy breaking trail to A, but when we saw there was 1 snowshoe track from someone with had hiked over from Wildcat D (with a very long stride), we continued along the ridge to D and down the Polecat ski trail, completing our original mission. Great team of 3 gals and 1 Lab!
