| Comments: |
The first half mile or so had been tracked out by trail maintainers clearing the blowdowns. After that we were only the second set of snowshoes out since the storm. There was about 6-8" or powder up to the ridge where it increased to about 12". We met the trailbreaker at north kinsman where he turned back down. The KRT to South was totally untouched so we became the trail breakers a this point. It wasn't to difficult that ks to the solid base just under the new snow. Heading back the same way, we packed it down into a nice looking snowshoe track. It's packed out now but still soft and will take some more traffic to become hard packed. No ice to speak of at any point, the snow has covered everything. |
