Great day on the Gentle Giant today.
3 of us wore snowshoes door-to-door. We started about 5 minutes after a pair of barebooters ahead of us, so we were able to smooth out their tracks. Eventually ended up crossing paths with 4 other folks. Unfortunately, the last 2 we passed were barebooting, so whatever work we did to smooth out the trail will be negated.
Snowshoes are the traction of choice. Snow is very fluffy on top and unconsolidated. It’s like walking on the beach without snowshoes. Hopefully there can be a nice clean track laid this weekend before next week’s thaw/freeze cycle.
Good to see some familiar names/faces from IG out there in real life. |
