| Comments: |
A very cold day on Cardigan! Below the summit cone, trails were perfect for snowshoes--broken out but still nice and soft. Summit cone is hard ice. Crampons needed; spikes would be useless. Though there are a couple of bald spots, the ice pack on the summit cone is sufficiently robust that you can find a path up to the summit without going crampons on rock. |
