| Water Crossing Notes: |
No major issues, but 2 open crossings on Lend-a-Hand were a bit challenging. I went to descender’s right and crossed slightly further down the trail on the second crossing which seemed a better route to me (this is just above the forest protection sign for Zealand Hut). |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Generally good shape. A few bent over spruce here and there, but all easy to duck under or walk around. |

| Comments: |
A nice loop through the woods on a day with a low ceiling of clouds. Bare boots were fine on the road, which is well packed. I tried snowshoes on the road for a while but there is no defined snowshoe path and the various ruts from hikers, skiers and snowmobiles made it much harder going with snowshoes than bare boots. Skiers appear to favor the edges of the road. Well developed snowshoe track on Hale Brook, Twinway and Zealand trails. Lend-a-Hand had only seen one or two tracks and was quite soft; snowshoes were essential there. Lots of moose tracks on Lend-a-Hand, too, although I didn’t see a moose. |
