We had a nice day cruising up to Mt. Mist and over to Wachipauka Pond. Snow started crusty and took some trail breaking -not too bad though. On the way back everything was softening up though. We went all the way to the pond -considered Webster Slab, however it was pretty misty and so we decided to save it for another day and to come up from the Glencliff side. We met only one fellow who was barebooting up (and postholing a ton -looked exhausting) towards 25A -hoping he made it okay without snowshoes. When we returned we tried to fill in the post holes -got many, but not all. A nice day to be out -misty and wet -seems like a good match for Mt. Mist. Trees up top were beautiful covered in ice. |
