| Comments: |
The driveway was slightly icy in the morning, but not so much on our return. From the pasture to the summit, the trail consisted of ~4 inches of wet loose snow on top of a well-packed path. Probably bare boots would have been OK, but microspikes worked better. Snowshoes were not necessary, but they too could be used if one wanted to smooth out the loose snow on top (but, as mentioned, there is not much to smooth out). Opportunities for 1- to 2-foot postholing abound just off the trail. |
