Comments
Comments: Rebroke the ski trails carefully avoiding the cross country line. Fairly easy to junction of Greeley Pond Trail. Climb up was packed down all in snow shoes except for one in bare boots who paid the price with many post holes. This climb is brutal but well broken out. This climb is one of my least favorites, but before you know it your at the summit. No views light snow but so peaceful. Over to Osceola well broken out. Once at the chimney the bypass of the bypass is the route of choice. Dropped my pack it made quick work of Mount Osceola. Heading back down lots of opportunities for buttsliding which made the return trip faster. On the way out on the ski trails several had followed my track & helped pack it down. However about a quarter mile before the end a group of eight or nine we’re coming up and bear boots. I’m not sure what where they were going but they absolutely destroyed both the snowshoe track and the ski track . Obviously the sign at the beginning of the trail that says snow shoes or skis only ment nothing to them. Obviously with the weather coming in these conditions will change. I don’t want to be the post hole police but I’m sure these trails are now destroyed due to this group. I was so angry seeing this group I really couldn’t speak. The sign says no bare boots, but if you live in the state. South of us it doesn’t mean you. Big van at the trail head.......hope they had fun ruining all the hard work.
