Incredible day up up above 5,000ft. Snowshoes up Valley Way, a few super deep postholes, from the previous day. Some used spikes, and it was manageable. Osgood it was recommended to go with spikes, we did. I would of preferred my snowshoes (left them at the hut) Some deep postholing happening on the lower section. Gulfside up to Airline, some icy spots but snowshoe traction got me up. Airline up to Adams, soft snow under the crust, so snowshoes highly recommended. Used them all the way up. WOW, no words to describe how spectacular the view were. Oe of my favorite summits in the Whites. Snowshoes all the way back down till about 2 miles, then I did some butt sledding and bare boots. |
