Comments
Comments: What a great day for Jefferson! 25 degrees, ZERO wind and crunchy snow is a great experience in the Whites.

Wore snowshoes all the way up Jewell since someone has recently had a post-holey day. Once above treeline the snow is more well packed and crunchy, so I switched to spikes to go across Gulfside. This worked out well and I only broke through the crust a handful of times.

The climb down Gulfside and back up to Jefferson is in very good condition with the trail packing in nicely. The trip back the same way was even more promising as the dozen or so folks on the trail continued to pack a nice base on both Gulfside and Jewell. Things get choppy on the bottom mile of Jewell, so bring snowshoes and hope it's cold enough for spikes if you're going out soon.
