Well went out knowing snowshoes were coming. Total people count for the day hiking owlshead: 9. I barebooted to the last crossing where I put snowshoes to make sure no boot went through and used it up brutus bushwhack for the televators. That whack I feel is steeper and steeper each time… I was the 4th to summit and 3rd out. Saw only 1 other wearing their snowshoes, everyone else had spikes on which tore up the nice hard pack that once was. I took the snowshoes off after the 2 crossings and was surprised with everyone booting across didn’t go through which was good. I made it back to the car just before 3 with no weather. Once driving was when the slush and rain started in. |
