Comments
Comments: What a spectacular day in the sun above the clouds up on the prezzies. It was a virtually windless day. A bit of a Goldie locks hike too hot in the sun and too cold when the light breeze picked up but by far overall, just right. Regulating ventilation was little tough and gave you a chill on Monroe, part of the climb up Washington, in the cul between Jefferson and Clay and along Gulfside on the way out. Snowshoes from car to car on packed trails with loose powder - about 1"-2" below on the Ammo and 4"-8" climbing Washington. The lower Ammo could take spikes for a mile or two, but new and drifting snow got deeper. Above the waterfall, the trail became undiscernible and we broke trail to the hut. Same up Washington. We had to break trail making the slog so much more sloggier. By we, I mean John. Thank you, sir. After Washington, there was enough snowshoe traffic for smoother sailing. We were very fortunate meet and hike with an impromptu hiking pod for a spell. Great to chat with John and Cynthia, and two solo's Molly and Chris. Congrats to Chet on #39 and #40 over 75. He wisely waved of Jefferson. I'm glad I did it. My body is not.
