The largest one is partially bridged. Rock hoppable on one side with care. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Stony Brook in great shape. Carter-Moriah had lots of smaller trees that are bowed over into the trail by the weight of the snow. We cleared a few that were obviously broken, but most of them will hopefully rebound once the snow melts. |

| Comments: |
We started in spikes as the trail down low seemed to be firm…however, the trail had been churned pretty badly with postholes throughout. We put on snowshoes 1.4 miles in to add some stability and clean up the trail. Wore them the rest of the day except for the top mile of Stony Brook which we sledded down on the way out. As indicated above, the section on the Carter-Moriah Trail is filled with snow laden trees that you have to push through. Carter-Moriah was well broken towards Gorham. Kenduskeag, Moriah Brook, and Carter-Moriah heading towards North Carter haven’t seen any traffic since the last snow. |
