| Comments: |
Gale River Trail was well packed by boots, snowshoes, and skis, especially the lower part. I chose to wear snowshoes the whole way up (televators!) although the trail is packed well and you can probably use just spikes like the two guys ahead of me chose. Only saw an occasional posthole going up all the way to South Twin. Saw more coming down and the Gale River Trail seemed a little more chewed up on the descent. I wore spikes coming down so I could slide a bit easier. Was in the clouds all day so no views from South Twin but the views right in front of me of the snow laden trees were beautiful. Roughly 14.5 miles total. |
