Microspikes pretty much door to door [see following sentences though about snowshoes being a benefit to others]. Zealand road is well traveled. Sugarloaf trail was an expected mild barefooted mess, mostly fine in spikes up to the intersection. Cutoff to North Sugarloaf would have benefited from snowshoes but I managed ok in spikes; that section doesn’t see much traffic. Summit of Middle Sugarloaf has a few more deep postholes but can be managed by watching your step. Did not see anyone else, only other people in the parking lot heading to Zealand hut and snowmobiles. |
