We had a simply wonderful time hiking up Mount Martha yesterday. In total we had 4 adults in snowshoes and 8 kids (ages 4-10) in spikes although we carried snowshoes for the kids in case they were needed. The trail was partially broken out with a single snowshoe track from a week or two before, so we consolidated and packed down the trail best we could. Snow conditions and weather couldn’t have been better. There are a few postholes here and there but overall it’s in great shape. Snoeshoes recommended for adults but you can probably get by with spikes also. For snowshoes you will want a fair amount of traction and televators are helpful and steeper section heading up to the ridge. |
