| Comments: |
Trail was well packed most of the way, a little drifting on the ridge between the peaks. Wore snowshoes for most of the way up, they worked great for the steep section but removed them for the descent from East Osceola due to the steepness of the trail. My hillsounds didn’t have much bite because of the loose snow in the trail so it was a sketchy descent of sliding and grabbing trees. It seems like crampons could be the better choice for that section if you don’t like sliding [or Tubbs Flex Alps snowshoes]. There was a nice bypass around the chimney that made ascent and descent straightforward! |
