Comments
Comments: Trail is in excellent condition the whole way, well packed. One could bare boot from the trailhead to Carter Notch Hut. In our party we had 1 person in snowshoes, 1 in crampons, and 1 in microspikes. The microspikes were not really adequate for the ascent out of Carter Notch, good snowshoes with heel lifts were the best and crampons worked too. Everything else was fine in microspikes. Beware postholes along the trail edges, particularly on the section from Zeta Pass to the 19 Mile Brook junction!
