Trails: Ravine Lodge Road, Gorge Brook Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, February 4, 2024
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked in the lot at the gate on Ravine Lodge Road, as the road the rest of the way to the lodge is closed this time of year (adds ~1.3 miles total to the hike). There were more cars than I've ever seen there in winter, but a great perk of starting a hike at 2:45pm in winter is getting a close parking spot ;)

Comments
Comments: Ravine Lodge Road is mostly plowed - still a layer of packed snow/ice on top so spikes are a good bet for this. Trail was a packed highway basically the whole way. Top was a little drifty with some deeper snow because the wind was absolutely blasting. Everything is super duper snowy/icy up top which is beautiful but also makes it harder to see the cairns and trail, so keep an eye on where you're going. Caught a great sunset with 4 other people and then zoomed out of there because gosh it was cold.
