| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The (mostly-plowed) parking lot at the trailhead, at the hair-pin curve of the Kancamagus, was quite full when I arrived at 9:30am. But as soon as I pulled in, a big group of tourists departed, leaving one car. I saw foot- and snow-shoe prints ahead of me all day. That car was gone, and lot empty, upon my return at 3:30pm. |

| Comments: |
Hancock Notch and Cedar Brook were both super-highways: thanks to folks who went up with snowshoes over the weekend! Just perfect, bare-booting without any concern for post-holing. Snowshoes went on at the beginning of the loop, which I did counter-clockwise: steeply up to Hancock then over to Middle and South. Gorgeous, blue-sky day, great 360-degree views but cold and windy at the top. Steep down from there, with snow-shoes holding firm, except for a couple of fun slides. The foot- and snow-shoe prints ahead of me also went clock-wise, so didn't see anybody all day. A great day was had in the White Mountains. |
