Comments: Trails were firm this afternoon, as temperatures hovered around freezing. Some postholes on the ridge from the Microspikers of yore.

I wore snowshoes roundtrip without issue, though light traction would have been sufficient in current temperatures. That said, snowshoes will be needed as temperatures warm later in the week, particularly on the ridge. Snowpack is generally one to two feet with more variation on the ridge.

Beautiful clear afternoon/early evening with an early March feel to it. Squam Lake looks nicely frozen.
