| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Same as noted in prior trail reports - LW is clear. Bondcliff has a series of stepovers and duck unders. Additionally the heavy snow and ice on the trees between the Bond and W Bond summit, cause them to sag in a lot of places, making the trail a bit of a limbo game. All trail signs are intact except Osseo, which has a large corner missing. |

I saw one today, pulling a girl up the Bondcliff Trail. Does that count for the Grid? |

Out and back from Lincoln Woods on a day with spectacular weather - temps in the 20s, bright sun and no wind! And almost no people; I saw two people and one dog all day. I had the summits to myself; I don’t ever remember that happening before. I bare booted until the left turn at the old trestle and then used snowshoes from that point on, taking them off when I got back to that point. It was mashed potato snow starting around noon as the sun was wonderfully warm. The heavy snow and ice are starting to melt off the trees, which just adds to the sloppy mess that the trails are becoming. While this weekend’s warm weather will feel good, I think that it might make the hiking a bit challenging. I would definitely recommend bringing snowshoes if you are headed out to the Bonds in the next few days! |
