Comments
Comments: Spectacular Counter-Clockwise loop. Hard snowshoe pack the entire way and I wore spikes start to finish. One short section on the south side of Belknap was getting pretty soft in the afternoon sun, but other than that it was a super highway. I lost trail for a brief moment descending from Gunstock as there are some crisscrossing ski trails and a break in the yellow blazes at just the wrong spot. I also missed the Piper Trail intersection after summiting Piper and ended up taking the Carriage Road back down to parking lot adding a little bit of mileage, but the snowshoe track continued to be firm on the road as well. Outside of the ski lift at Gunstock, saw just one lone snowshoer and a trail runner the entire day.
