Up ammo, it was softened mostly packed snow no ice great traction minimal postholes. I used snowshoes for the televators and switched at LOC Hut to K10's for the duration. For Monroe little wind and sunny warm no drifts, some exposed rock and ice all manageable. Decent pack on Crawford Path with some sloping windswept crust around .4 from hut. Winds picked up on Washington summit temps in 20's there. Winds subsided after the descent on Cog Rail Trail just before Jacobs Ladder. A couple slightly drifted sections and sloping hard crust careful foot placement there. Warm after Halfway point. At.2 from Marshfield Station after crossing from right of rail to left in the ski zone, that Bull Moose was standing at the trees facing the trail, probably Samantha's buddy. Daylight was dwindling. I was observing thinking there were branches shaped like antlers then saw the body. He had his eyes open but no movement. I let out an audible,he was unphased. I kept looking back,he never moved, |
