Comments
Comments: Wore snowshoes entire time. Snowshoed up Pole Cat ski trail to the top of the lift - gorgeous views of the northern presidentials. Couple of ski patrol on the trail and at top of the lift. We were off the ski trail at 7:30am, well before 8:30am cut-off. Great views from Wildcat D observation deck. Wildcat Ridge Trail had unconsolidated snow but nice to snowshoe on. Snowshoes definitely recommended on this trail. Lot of ups and downs eventually to Wildcat A- the viewpoint was excellent. Steep descent into Carter Notch. Walked across frozen Carter Lakes and stopped for snack break at Carter Notch Hut. Descent via Nineteen Mile Brook Trail was a breeze - well-packed. Could've worn microspikes but chose to remain in snowshoes. Beautiful day in the mountains!
