Comments
Comments: Spring conditions in February! With the unseasonably warm temps, it was a mess out there today. We started early enough that the snow was still relatively stable heading up to South Doublehead. By the time we hit the ridge, it was getting mushier but snowshoes were still providing good flotation most of the time. Coming off North Doublehead down the ski trail after noon, we were postholing even with snowshoes. We did our best to leave the ski trail intact but it was very slow going and other snowshoers and hikers in bare boots had chopped it up some too. Hoping that the ski traffic will help level out the trail some before it freezes like this. Beautiful views and plenty of sunshine!
